Reaching Out

I was reading Ben's Blog and thought of an article I read, that talks about using the Blogger to publish opinions expressed in a country where it is forbidden to do so.

It's incredible how we take our freedom for granted, as simple as typing an email, and talking openly about your opinion about something. Imagine that all being taken away from you.

There's at least one place in Iran where citizens dare speak their minds. It is referred to as Weblogistan, and in this rapidly expanding virtual terrain, there are an estimated 100,000 active Iranian blogs. Persian now ties with French as the second most used language in the blogosphere.

Iranians generally use pseudonyms online to discuss taboo topics and criticize the government in a way no other news outlet would allow. Even some high-profile politicians have joined in, such as President Mohammad Khatami's former Vice President, Mohammad Ali Abtahi, who offers candid insights into the Iranian government on his blog, accompanied by photos taken with his cell phone.

But crackdowns are always looming. More than 20 online activists were detained last year for several weeks and beaten for antigovernment criticism. In response, dozens of blogs have sprung up offering instructions on how to remain anonymous and circumvent government filters. With the June presidential elections approaching, some bloggers are campaigning for a boycott, while others support reformist candidates and argue for participation. Weblogs are one weapon, that even the Islamic Republic cannot beat.

No wonder they want to come to Canada.

Thanks for the complements. I found the article, borrowed some names, but it sounds great. I was a good cheater at school. (LOL)Interesting enough, 30% of those Iranian citizens on-line are women, that's approximately 30,000 hooters, or 60,000(-+)individual breasts. That's alot of tits. Oh and I still love cars.

This topic goes back to Linda's blog on men and their ogling...Helder is just happy these oppressed women finally found an outlet to speak up. Now if he can only find a way to see them and their 60,000+ hooters.

Helder - here is a charity idea for you. Collect money to send free web cams to oppressed countries!

Generally men have encouraged this obsession and women have embraced it. "Breast obessed" is probably too extreme of a phrase. I am more of a lesbian. I love all types of women, big or small, white or black and it's not always about the physical appearance of a person. My relationship with my companion for life is what I am obessed with. Getting a sneak peek at a hooter or two when you have the opportunity, well that's just a bonus. It's not my fault I have large producers of testosterone. LOL

Very good point, Helder. Women have encouraged this obsession. They dont make those little skimpt tops for nothing. There are women out there wearing them, mostly to attract men!

Helder you could be like the Dominion commercial...breast obsessed instead of fresh obsessed. Hee hee. I love how you love ALL kinds of women. You are nothing like the men I wrote about on my blog...see? If a breast pops out you will look, Hey I WOULD LOOK you are only human :) Ain't nothing wrong with that.
